Dear Monroe Family,

In 2013-14, California Changed the way it funds school districts. The new model, called the Local Control Funding Formula (LCFF), allows districts more freedom in how funds are spent but also requires accountability with the development of a Local Control and Accountability Plan (LCAP). The LCAP aligns spending to specific district goals for student achievement. It outlines the actions and services being carried out each year to help reach district goals for our students.

Stakeholder and community engagement is a cornerstone of the LCFF/LCAP process. The school board and district must "consult with teachers, principals, administrators, other school personnel, local bargaining units of the school district, parents, and pupils" in developing the LCAP (Education Code 52060(g)). We are seeking Parent Advisory Committee (PAC) members from each school to provide guidance on our LCAP goals. Your support is important in meeting the needs of all students, especially the needs of our low income, English learners, homeless, and foster youth.

The Parent Advisory Committee will meet this spring and next fall in the evening (time to be determined). If you are interested in serving on the district Parent Advisory Committee please contact me via email at [email protected], by phone (760) 499-1830, or by returning the bottom of this form. Thank you for your consideration and willingness to serve the students of our community.
