Student – Parent – School Contract

 

Student's Agreement

I understand that education is important to me.   I am the one responsible for my own success.

As a student, I will be responsible for the following:

•  Come to school everyday on time and be prepared to do my best.

•  Respect my culture and the cultural diversity of my school.

•  Follow all school and classroom rules.

•  Spend quality/required time at home reading, studying, and completing homework on time.

•  Participate actively in the classroom and ask for help when needed.

•  Become an active participant in extracurricular activities and the community.

•  Encourage my parents to participate in my education.

•  Fill out my assignment book daily.   Have parents sign weekly.

 

Parent's/Guardian's Agreement

I understand that participation in my student's education is vital to his/her success.

As a parent I will be responsible for the following:

•  Provide an appropriate place to study and encourage my student to complete all homework.

•  Ensure that my student gets adequate sleep and has a healthy diet.

•  Support the school's homework, discipline and attendance policies.

•  Participate in school events such as Back-to-School, parent/teacher conferences, Open House, and other school events/functions/meetings.

•  Read all school-to-home communications and contact the school when I have questions and/or concerns.

•  Encourage my student to understand and respect his/her own culture and language, and that of others.

•  Review and sign my student's assignment book on a weekly basis.

 

 

James Monroe Middle School Agreement

We understand the importance of a quality education for all students and our role as educators and positive role models.

As a school, we will be responsible for the following:

•  Create and promote a safe, positive, and healthy learning environment.

•  Provide a challenging instructional program addressing individual needs.

•  Assign appropriate homework with clear instructions.

•  Encourage students to read daily at school and home.

•  Communicate with parents regarding student progress and schedule parent/teacher conferences to accommodate the learning process.

•  Promote understanding and respect of students' cultures and language diversity.
