News from Roaring Recyclers

 

Are you aware that Americans used 50 billion water bottles in 2006 and out of that number only 23 % got recycled?1,2 That means that 38 billion water bottles -equal to $1 BILLION worth of plastic gets wasted each year.

If laid end to end, 38 billion bottles would travel from Earth to Moon and back 10 times.

How far would the water bottles that get thrown away in our community alone (if laid end to end) travel?

We are pleased to announce that Mardi has organized a recycling club here at James Monroe.  Any proceeds from this effort will be used to benefit the students of James Monroe! As the Roaring Recyclers get more organized we will announce how you can help and come join the effort!
